Aftermath
First of all - an apology. A couple of days ago I found out that I hadn't renewed my web hosting service, so this blog was out of commission for a while. Sorry about that - but we're back now.
So we played at the Wanch on Friday night, and it was a lot of fun. Rob started off proceedings with a few solo numbers, then we played our first set. We ended up splitting our sets into three, as we were worried that we were getting through our material too fast. In fact, after we'd finished the guy who books bands at the Wanch said we should just play everything again. We didn't play all our songs again - but we did do quite a few.
Highlights:
Rob walking backwards out the door of the pub, still playing his guitar.
Rob ordering four shots of whiskey.
Me screaming "please, no whiskey".
A good-sized crowd of friends who turned up to see us play - thank you very much for coming, it was great to see you all there.
We handed out a few copies of our demo CD - Maggie and Rob put a lot of work in to make the CD's look nice with cover art and printing on the CD. If anyone would like a free copy, leave a note in the comments section of this post, or send an email to adrian DOT furby AT gmail DOT com

The Fun Never Stops
We will of course be playing at the Wanch tomorrow night (58 Jaffe Road, Wanchai - band starts about 10pm - BE THERE), but I'm glad to say that we'll also be playing a gig on August 4th. This gig will be our audition for inclusion in the Rockit Hong Kong Music Festival. The gig will be at a club called Amnesia. I'm not entirely sure where that is, but as soon as I find out I'll put up the details here. Check back soon for more updates, including details of how to get a copy of our demo CD.

Live At The Wanch
Tell your brothers, tell your sistas; tell your maw and tell your paw... The Bone Table is in town...
Yes folks, Bone Table will be playing live at The Wanch on July 21st, Friday.
What kind of music do we play? You may ask. Bone Table plays what some people may call Hard Rockin' Mid-Levels Hillbilly Sound; the sound is Gutbucket Rock, with a Chicago twist!
Come check us out. Come have a drink with us. Come make fun of us. Come jam with us. Whatever you want to do, just come on out! Don't miss the debut gig of Bone Table at The Wanch.

Bone Table Demo
A couple of weeks ago we set up in James' studio and recorded some of our songs. We did this so we would have something to play venue owners as part of the hunt for places to play, but also so we could have a record of how we sounded at a particular point in time. It was a lot of fun, although slightly wearing (it was very hot in the studio).

You can check out some photos from the session here.
In addition - Maggie and her husband have been mixing the tracks, we now have four tracks for you to get a sneak preview of:

Who's in the band?
Right, here are some brief bios of the band members.
Robert - Robert is from Chicago and is currently living and working in Hong Kong. He plays guitar in the band (a lovely Rickenbacker) and writes a lot of the songs. He's played in a lot of bands back in Chicago and has a passion for American roots music.
Maggie - originally from Hong Kong, she now lives in Hawaii, but is back in Hong Kong for a while. Maggie plays the bass, teaches English, writes for Popgadget and generally keeps the band fashionable.
James - from the UK but has been in Hong Kong for quite some time now. When he's not playing the drums in Bone Table James is a sculptor and events artist. He also plays in a number of other groups in Hong Kong, and seems to know everybody.
Adrian - the first thing Adrian did when he got to Hong Kong was start learning Cantonese. The second thing he did was look for a band to play guitar with. Adrian also writes a lot of the band's material.

Who or What is Bone Table?
Hi there! If you're reading this you probably already know who we are, but for those of you that don't, here's a brief explanation.
Bone Table is a group of four people living in Hong Kong who got together to play some original rock n' roll. The history of the band goes something like this:

Bone Table is a group of four people living in Hong Kong who got together to play some original rock n' roll. The history of the band goes something like this:
- Late 2005 - Robert (guitar) and James (drums) meet at an Elvis exhibition and naturally end up playing together in James' art studio in Sheung Wan.
- February 2006 - Adrian responds to Robert's online ad for a bass player. Despite not having a bass or an amplifier Adrian convinces Robert that he can play bass. Ends up playing guitar.
- March 2006 - Maggie responds to Robert's ad for a bass player. The band is complete.
