  Count of Three
We had our first instrumental rehearsal yesterday - it really went well. We were a bit worried that it would be a train wreck. There was the potential to get severely out of time with the machine, or that there wouldn't be much development of the musical ideas. If anything we found that there were so many nice little musical ideas that we will have trouble remembering them all. I think this little group could be a lot of fun.

A couple of points today - first of all I'm sitting here listening to Radiohead's new album In Rainbows, which is not that exciting if you don't like Radiohead, except for the fact they let me choose how much I wanted to pay for it. Very refreshing. Actually I quite like it, so that's lucky. If you are interested in Radiohead and you also like the feeling of participating in the destruction of the record industry, then head over here and pay as much or as little as you like. Some people are paying a lot for it, others are paying hardly anything.

Meanwhile I have started a new musical project with a couple of friends here in Hong Kong - our tentative group name is Count of Three. It's an interesting project - we will have guitar, bass and drums, but we'll also be using a sampler. I think we are going to try and construct and deconstruct songs in the same set. It will be an interesting performance dynamic. Our first "rehearsal" consisted of sitting in my spare room sifting through various noises on our laptops and trying to get them to work with each other. First rehearsal with instruments should be tomorrow.
