Hey, you're always asking me where I find stuff...

  Privacy & Terror
There's a lot in the news at the moment about how the Federal Government is planning to introduce nationwide anti-terror legislation, including giving police the power "to stop and search people in transport hubs and mass gatherings such as sporting events and rallies" and to detain people for up to 14 DAYS WITHOUT CHARGE.

So I guess in the years to come we can expect to see stories like this - a man stopped in the UK for wearing a coat in the wrong season, arrested, DNA swabbed and fingerprinted and his possessions confiscated indefinitely. Read the whole story.

And then contact your MP.

  Leon (Part 2)
As I mentioned earlier, a friend named Leon came over to my place a couple of weeks ago and recorded two songs. I asked him if it would be OK to stick them up here for people to download and he said that would be fine, so if you want to hear them, have at it:

"In the Spotlight" - Leon Wilks (mp3, 3.8MB, 128kpbs)
"Lost" - Leon Wilks (mp3, 5MB, 128kbps)

Both of them are Demo mixes, so they still need a lot of work. But they're fine for a listen or two.

  PSP!
Someone at work has asked me to fool around with a PSP. There's one game in the box and it looks better than any game on a PS2.

Here's a photo of me taking a photo of the PSP:

  Grab Your Fork
I just discovered a food blog called Grab Your Fork - it's a beauty. There's so much in there I could spend hours reading it. I've stuck a link to it on the right-hand side of this page so I can find it again.

  Leon
Last weekend a friend named Leon came over to my place. I asked him to come over so I could record a couple of his songs. Leon is a singer-songwriter, coffee-maker and guitar teacher, but he doesn't have much of an outlet for getting his music down on tape. I thought it would be a good thing to do - he'd get a demo CD out of it and I'd get more experience at recording someone.

So he came over, we had a couple of beers, and I recorded two of his songs onto my laptop. It turned out quite well - I still need to mix them properly, but the first listens are quite encouraging.

I was going to make the songs available for download here, but then I realised I haven't asked him if I can. So I'll do that first and if he says "Yes" they'll be on this site in a couple of days.
